Sneak Peek: New Unit

Are you guys in for a surprise!? I have been working vigilantly on a new unit to share with you all. Look below for a hint:

That is right, I am creating a whole unit around the book, Waffles + mochi: Follow That Food! By Christy Webster.

What items should you expect in this unit? This unit will cover a variety of subjects for your learners. Not only will it include various subjects, but it will be differentiated to meet the needs of all learners.

Phonics: For this subject, educators will be given the option to teach Magic “E”, suffix -ed, or both. The great thing about this unit is that the educator can decide what topic they want for their learner. Each phonics topic will include posters to display and teach from, worksheets, games, activities, and assessments. They will all be differentiated to meet your low, middle, and high learners.

Spelling: To go along with the phonics topics, spelling will be based on Magic “E” and the suffix -ed. There will be three levels of spelling lists and activities. This resource will include lists, games, activities, and worksheets to go with the words.

English/Language Arts: For this subject, educators will be given the option to teach about nouns, verbs, or adjectives. If the educator wants, they can do all three of the lessons. Each topic will include posters to display and teach from, worksheets, games, activities, and assessments. They will all be differentiated to meet your low, middle, and high learners.

Reading: For this subject, educators will be given the option to teach about retelling, story elements, or comparing and contrasting. If the educator wants, they can do all three of the lessons. Each topic will include posters to display and teach from, worksheets, games, activities, and assessments. They will all be differentiated to meet your low, middle, and high learners. Learners will use the book to complete these activities.

Mathematics: For this subject, educators will be given the option to teach about fractions, shapes, or money. If educators want, they can do all three lessons. Each topic will include posters to display and teach from, worksheets, games, activities, and assessments. They will be differentiated to meet your low, middle, and high learners.

History: For this subject, educators will be given the option to teach about herbs as medicine or the history of various pizza ingredients. If educators want to, they can teach both topics Each topic will include a nonfiction read, worksheets, activities, games, and assessments. All activities will be differentiated to meet your low, middle, and high learners.

Science: For this subject, educators will be given the option to teach about the stages of matter or environments. If the educator wants, they can teach about both topics. Each topic will include a nonfiction read, worksheets, activities, games, and assessments. All activities will be differentiated to meet your low, middle, and high learners.

Writing: For this subject, educators will be given the option to teach writing recipes or letters. If the educator chooses, they can teach both topics. Each topic will include a poster to display and teach from, writing prompts, a writing web, a writing paper, and a rubric. All activities will be differentiated to meet your low, middle, and high learners.

Social/Emotional: For this subject, educators will be given the topic of making new friends. The topic will include a nonfiction read, a poster to display and teach from, worksheets, activities, and games. All activities will be differentiated to meet your low, middle, and high learners.

Extras: The extras will include pizza making, farming, and trips.
