March Resources You'll Love

Are you looking for some fun resources to spice up learning for the month of March? Look no further! I have a few resources that are great additions to any learning environment.

St. Patrick’s Day Tens Frame Addition and Subtraction for Beginning Learners

This resource is a fun addition to your March mathematics lessons. This resource has a variety of games, activities, and worksheets based on addition and subtracting using a tens frame. All activities are provided in color and black and white. The first set of worksheets is matching worksheets. Learners are given a number in a tens frame and they will draw a line to a number in a tens frame on the other side that will add up to 10. Next are addition task cards. The learners are given a tens frame with a number inside along with an addition problem. Learners will need to demonstrate the equation to solve the missing number. The next set of worksheets focuses on subtraction. Learners will be given a tens frame with a certain number and a subtraction problem. Learners will then use the tens frame to model and solve the problem. After that, educators are given task cards on determining whether a subtraction equation is true or false. On the task card, there will be a tens frame that demonstrates an equation. The learner will need to identify whether the equation matches the tens frame or not.

St. Patrick's Day Number Sense Using Tens Frame for Beginning Learners

Another fun addition to your March mathematics lessons. This resource has a variety of games, activities, and worksheets based on number sense using a tens frame. All activities are provided in color and black and white. The first activity is matching numbers to a number represented in a tens frame. The learner will be given a tens frame with a certain amount of objects. They will then find the number that matches what is represented in the tens frame. The second activity is modeling the number. Learners will be given a tens frame mat. They will then choose a number from the pile. Once they have a number, learners will model that number in the tens frame. The last activity is a spin-and-find game. Learners will be given a spinner with numbers on it. The students will spin and whatever number they land on, they will find on the number mat.

St. Patrick's Day Feeling for Social and Emotional Health of Beginning Learners

This is a great resource to work on feelings. There are different options based on learning level. The first level provides a clover expressing a certain feeling. Learners will circle the emotion they believe the clover is expressing, then they will fill in the sentence frame, “I think that the clover feels _______ because _____.” The second level will have a clover expressing an emotion that learners will circle the name of the emotion. They are then given two writing prompts “I think the clover feels ____ because _______.” and “Sometimes I feel this way when ____.” The third level will have a clover expressing an emotion that the learner will have to determine. They are then given two writing prompts “I think the clover feels (insert emotion) because _______.” and “Sometimes I feel this way when ______.” All options are given in black and white, as well as color.

Let me know what other activities you would like to see in March.
